The SafeLife PIR Bed Exit Sensor Beam projects an invisible infra-red sensor beam alongside the bed, which tapers down to meed the floor allowing care staff to walk around the end of the bed.
The invisible beam is broken when a patient swings a leg out of bed and an alarm is generated through the Nurse call system. A LED light is also used to indicate if the beam is armed or in unarmed status.
Available with either one or two beam sensors, the one beam options works well when the bed is up against a wall with only one exit side.
The Bed Exit PIR comes with a bracket and fits to the wall at the head of the bed 40cm off the floor. The wall mount bracket is made of durable plastic which protects the sensor beam.
The PIR connects to the facility nurse call system at the over bed call point and is compatible will all brands of nurse call systems.
Being a discreet system with no moving parts or obvious controls the Bed Exit Sensor PIR is non invasive and robust most the time the resident wont even know its there..
Spare brackets are inexpensive and readily available so the system can be moved from room to room as required, leaving the bracket on the wall for future use. The PIR comes complete with a power pack and is turned on and off at the in-line switch located close to the bed side call point.
The 6.3 mm plug can be configured to suit all brand nurse call systems and is delivered as a mono configuration unless requested otherwise. Converting the 6.3mm plug configuration is easily achieved by removing a lug on a set of pins. If you’re unsure what type of connection you require for your nurse call system please call Safe Life for further information.
